As we age, our faces lose collagen, elastin, and other support structures that give it volume and plumpness. One of the latest techniques for restoring volume and plumpness to the face is the liquid facelift. This is a non-surgical facial rejuvenation technique involving the use of liquid fillers combined with Botox and Dysport to address the deflation process. A liquid facelift can correct under-eye bags and dark circles, create eyes that look more rested and lifted, diminish jowls, restore a youthful v-shape to the face by filling cheeks and temples, turning up corners of the mouth, and reduce wrinkles around the eyes, mouth, and forehead. The advanced dermal fillers often included in the liquid facelift can be Juvederm Ultra, Juvederm Ultra Plus, Radiesse, Restylane, Perlane, and Sculptra Aesthetic.
Because dermal fillers all tend to have slightly different structures and longevity, it will be Dr. Kwan’s preference that will determine what filler combinations are used in the various areas of the face during a liquid facelift. In addition, it is important to remember that everybody’s facial structure is different, so every liquid facelift will be customized to suit each patient. Some examples of what might be used during a liquid facelift would be Juvederm to add volume to the cheeks or jawline, Juvederm Volbella to correct the tiny lines around the mouth, Radiesse to fill marionette lines, Restylane Silk to plump and lift the lips, and Sculptra for long-term improvement of plumpness and volume. Botox or Dysport may also be utilized to relax and correct wrinkles around the eyes or between the eyebrows.
The effects of a liquid facelift are temporary, as all of these facial products eventually are absorbed by the body. You can work with Dr. Kwan to maintain the effects of the liquid facelift by re-administering products when needed as their effects fade. If you are seeking a non-surgical solution for facial volume loss or sagging, Kwan Dermatology can assist you with any questions you have about liquid facelift and can help determine whether this treatment is a fit for you to achieve your aesthetic goals.
